The "Dummies" series is an excellent source to learn about a product for both seasoned professionals and first time learners.

I've been using Photoshop since my student days starting out with Photoshop 7, and found this book extremely useful to learn about some of the more "hidden" features or not-well publicised and "hard to get to" functions of CS5.

The chapters could be laid out better, with some information for retouching and restoration splintered, or information regarding these functions hidden within the tutorials.

All in all an informative read.
