About the Author
Sheldon Spear taught history at the college level for more than thirty-five years.
In Pennsylvania Histories [Spear] demonstrates his breadth of
knowledge on subjects ranging from Civil War anti-war Copperheads
to the Philadelphia Phillies Whiz Kids. He brings the
characters and experiences to life in a clear, concise narrative
that often includes his wry sense of humor. Not only does
Spear inform us about Pennsylvania history but he does it a manner
reminiscent of that certain favorite teacher whom we all
remember. I’m sure you will enjoy this book – I certainly
did.
