About the Author
Lancashire born Janet Bolton studied at the Harris School of Art, Preston and Liverpool School of Art during the 1960s. Now living in London, Janet has written two books for children, 'My Grandmother's Patchwork Quilt' and 'Noah's Ark', as well as being featured in titles including 'Stars', 'Hearts' and 'Classic Crafts' (Conran Octopus), 'The Passionate Quilter' (Ebury Press) and 'Janet Bolton's Textile Pictures' (Quiltmania). Since 1985 Janet's compositions have been featured in exhibitions worldwide including the Crafts Council, Contemporary Applied Arts, Robert Young Antiques and the Rona Gallery in London; the Works Gallery in Philadelphia, Gayle Wilson Gallery, The Hampton's, New York; Takeshimaya, Tokyo; and the Museum De Stadshof, Holland. Janet had also exhibited her work at Godfrey & Watt, Harrogate, UK, since 1986. Janet is also a lecturer and holds regular open workshops in the UK and is often invited to other countries. She has also been a visiting lecturer at The Royal College of Art and is a frequent short-course tutor at West Dean College, Chichester.
