Very comprehensive book on DIY organic - covering from how to set up own compost to where to buy chooks! Lots of colourful pictures so that you can follow the steps on creating the perfect organic garden. Don explains the theory behind his suggestions as well so it is quite informative and doesn't leave you guessing why he tells you to do something a particular way. Very good value for such a high quality hard cover book.

I read this book cover to cover when I first got it and since then I keep going back for inspiration, ideas, and solutions. It is a good practice guide that relates well to different climates (as Australia can present some challenges) and the descriptions work well for NZ gardening too. If you want a good basic book to get started with that demonstrates low fuss easy to do methods - I recommend this one! Good pictures, easy to follow instructions and Don Burkes enthusiasm shows through the writing style.

This is a great book! I originally borrowed it from the library but will definitely be purchasing my own copy. Full of common sense advice as you would expect from Don Burke. Everything is really well explained and easy to understand, even for a relatively novice gardener like myself. Excellent value for money, I really recommend it.
