Don't be fooled by the title - Foucalt is more a philosopher than an archaeologist, and he uses 'archaeology' in a metaphorical sense in the title of this work. It's a fascinating read, if you're interested in that sort of thing (I am, but I know many others aren't) - but be warned: it's very deep and fairly heavy going in some spots. If you've never read Foucalt before, I'd suggest digging up one of his works from a library to see if it suits you before going ahead and buying.
