Zinsser's book is full of good and sensible advice. Writing is not just a mysterious art. It is also a craft and he is obviously a good teacher. I enjoyed his chapter on writing memoirs and family history in particular.

Zinsser writes clearly and dispels a lot of the mystique about writing. Writing may be an art but it is also a craft, and techniques can be acquired. He makes a lot of sense and must have been an excellent teacher. I liked his advice on the writing of memoirs and family history in particular.
