Everyone loved Old Hu-Hu. But nobody loved him quite as much as little Hu-Hu-Tu. Old Hu-Hu is a thoughtful tale of young Hu-Hu-Tu's search for understanding of what has happened to his beloved Old Hu-Hu, who flew all the way to the moon (or so they said), then fell down dead. Sensitively written, this is a beautiful story of death and the celebration of life, with powerful, evocative illustrations by Rachel Driscoll.

My child found this book to easy to absorb and could read it himself. Death can be a tough subject for some parents or caregivers to discuss with children and this book helps as a starting point.
This is a most delightful sophisticated picture book dealing with grief and loss. It would be great to use with children in class looking in depth at visual language and hidden meanings. If you look closely at the illustrations there are pictures of Old Huhu hidden in the trees reminding us that those we love never truly leave us.
