I bought this book from Fishpond. Few days later I went to Art shop for some extra books, and they tried to sell me exactly the same book and recommended it as the best for Oil Painting, I proudly said that I have already ordered one :-)

This is my favourite painting instruction book ever. With it I have learned all about Alkyds, mediums, and many techniques demo'd in a way that very easy to follow.
The first section I have highlighted and scribbled all over as it compares many paints and paint manufacturers from around the world. I have been able to pick and choose my paints to suit me - I like fast drying alkyds and transparency for glazes.
I also learned about Oil Bars, and now have had 3 exhibition painted almost completely with oil bars.
If there is one oil painting book you need, it's this one!

I wish that I had been told about this book earlier. I highly recommend it!
