About the Author

Bruce Wiegand is on the sociology faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. He has worked in Washington, D.C., at the Internal Revenue Service on the Taxpayer Compliance Measurement Program. Professor Wiegand was also a Fulbright Scholar in Belize, Central America (1988-1989). He is presently at work on a study of smuggling in developing countries.
