Carlos Alberto Aguilera (Havana, 1970) is a poet and writer, a remarkable character from the latest generation of young Cuban authors. He co-founded the (now banned) Diaspora(s) magazine, which during its brief lifespan became a leading space for critical debate and alternative culture, as well as an open platform for intellectuals and writers. He received the David de Poesia award from the Cuban Writers' and Artists' Union (UNEAC) in 1995, followed by the Calendario de Poesia award. An international figure, he has been translated into several languages and currently resides in Prague.
