Disappointingly Americanised version of a classic British author. I own/have read other John Seymour books - great info from a very knowledgable man. This edition unfortunately has been Americanised, and it's very off-putting to have an Englishman talking about "fall" in the English countryside, and using other very American terminology (..what the blazes is a rutabaga again???...) I would definitely not have bought this edition if I had realised - should carry a warning label!!! :-(

Fabulous information for the home gardener who wishes to be more self sufficient. The only draw-back is that the information is for the northern hemisphere therefore any information given on a monthly rather than seasonal basis has to be transposed to southern hemisphere by adding six months (or thereabouts). Having said this most information is given by seasonal.

Some details are missing (although it may only be that I'm always hungry for more). However, plenty of information and a wide variety of subjects/plants and gardening know-how is included to make up for the shortfalls.
Recommended to add to a collection.
