About the Author

Painter, photographer, writer and some-time architect, Alasdair McGregors professional interests range from natural history and the environment, to architecture, design and the history of exploration. He has published a number of books including The Kimberley: Horizons of Stone. His books have been short-listed for a number of major literary prizes and Grand Obsessions won the 2011 National Biography Award. Alasdair has staged numerous exhibitions of his paintings and his works hang in corporate and public collections in Australia and overseas. This is Alasdairs first book for Australian Geographic
