Promotional Information

Budget: A portion of $8,000.00 marketing and publicity budget.

Galleys: Print and PDF galleys will be available.

National, Regional, and Market Specific Advertising: Prominent, recurring advertising in various strategic press outlets, both in print and online.

Print/Online Media Campaign: We aggressively promote our titles and are always seeking out ways to garner attention, using both traditional means such as creating trailers and sending press releases and review copies to key media outlets and influential reviewers, but also creating custom marketing strategies unique to each release. These efforts have resulted in coverage across an array of media outlets including AV Club, Boing Boing, The Chicago Tribune, Comic Book Resources, The Comics Beat, The Comics Journal, The Comics Reporter, Newsarama, Publishers Weekly, and many more.

Social Media Campaign: Our web and social presences are distinct and continuing to grow. We have a recently re-branded 2dcloud.com website that not only functions as a locus for our direct sales and artist and publisher information, but also has exclusive content to drive additional traffic to the site. In terms of our social presence, we are active on all major channels: Facebook (facebook.com/2DCLOUD with over 650 likes), Twitter (@2dcloud with over 1,050 followers), Tumblr (2dcloud.tumblr.com, with over 900 followers), and most recently, Instagram (instagram.com/2d.cloud). A specific social media campaign for the title will incentivize fans to `take a selfie’ with the poster included in the book.

Artist Self-Promotion: In addition to our marketing and publicity efforts, our artists are also actively engaged on social media and in touring with fellow 2dc artists whose releases we’ve paired for each season. In this instance, Blaise will be touring extensively with fellow 2dc authors, Austin English and Andrew Burkholder. Throughout their touring, they will be composing a collaborative book, which they will be sharing peeks of, via social media, while on tour. Larmee also maintains a website where he showcases some of his work (blaiselarmee.com), and he offers previews and additional information about his showings and events on his tumblr page (davidhockney.tumblr.com/).

General Tour Info: 2dcloud and Blaise Larmee will be launching Mirror Mirror 1 at the Toronto Comic Arts Festival (TCAF), which runs May 14-15, 2016. TCAF is a hugely influential festival and an important stop during the spring tour circuit for many cartoonists. This week long celebration of comics and graphic novels and their creators, culminates in a two-day exhibition and vendor fair featuring hundreds of comics creators from around the world. Other Festival events include readings, interviews, panels, workshops, gallery shows, art installations, and much more. Since 2009, TCAF has been held at Toronto Reference Library in Toronto, Canada, and presented by Toronto Public Library.
