These books are too common and pretend for me. They dont relate to my life in all honesty, its just a attempt at writing nicely so it all sounds good, in a soft sort of way. Once an author makes numerous attempts at writing a book with the same name over & over then you know each version will become worse and worse and this poor attempt is no diffferent. I was disappointed in this book but i only have myself to blame as i knew deep down that there are way too many versions and re-writes and aadd-ons to 'men are from mars, women are from venus' for it to be any good.

This book has been really amazing for my love life so far. It has done really good things to help me understand the opposite sex. It has helped me deal better with conflict, understand the common different emotional needs of men and women, understand the different intimacy cycles of men and women, and to not get annoyed when women get emotionally charged.
The book does deal in very blanket views such as "men are like this" and "women are like this", with a bit of a clause at the start saying that some personality traits may cross over sexes a little when you yourself relate to it. What it lacks is the type of reasoning that sais - if your partner behaves like this, then he/she is most probably this type of person, if your partner behaves in this other way, then he/she is most probably this type of person. I guess if you can't ask your parter enough questions to find out for yourself, then there is probably something seriously wrong with your relationship in my opinion.
Aside from that, the author is a very experienced relationship councellor so I'm sure he has worked with enough people to start to form common patterns in how men and women generally are in relationships and how they experience them.
Either way, this book can only help in your quest to understand the opposite sex and how better to be in a relationship with your partner. It will most certainly reduce a lot of conflicts in your relationship purely due to understanding big differences in the other sex which are often overlooked by many people.

this may be the most important book any woman or man could own. i dont like to advocate the idea that there are rules or a method when it comes to relatioships, but the fact that men always pull away after a token of commitment, indicated to me the rubber band vs ocean theory is accurate. it is also true that typically women want ntmacy and commtment to grow progressively more with each step unlike men.
essential to understanding men
