Yvonne Gwyn on
An indispensible guide for re-enactors, it shows you all you need to know to sew a full range of clothes for a person from 1200 - 1500AD. It provides a basic overview of the types of garments worn, when and by whom, and gives a guide on sewing techniques, and the types of materials used and their modern equivalents. Patterns are provided, as are instructions on how to make a personal body block on which to base patterns. There are plenty of illustrations, diagrams and photos, and explanations on the historical context of garments. It is a useful book for both the beginner and those with sewing experience. I would recommend this book to anyone with an interest in medieval clothing.
