An otherwise ordinary cat, Oscar has the uncanny ability to predict when people in the Steere House nursing home are about to die. Dr. Dosa tells the stories of several patients and examines end-of-life care as it exists today.
Reviews
Oscar captured my heart, and Dr. Dosa opened my mind. This extraordinary book offers a physician's perspective on death and dying, as well as insights on family love, companionship without question, and the life-lessons that only the old can provide. As if that weren't enough, it proves the old adage, there are no ordinary cats. -- Brenda Copeland

An interesting book, more about the pallitive care of altzeimers patients and the help of compassion for the family the cat gives by staying with them, rather than about the cat itself.Worth reading to understand grief.
