As a Beauty Therapist I recommend this book to anyone who wants to experiment with make up and develop their techniques for application. We keep this book in our clinic and often use it as inspiration, for fresh ideas and also for make up for special occasions such as proms. It is easy with step by step instructions and the looks can be created with any brand of make up.

Growing up with three brothers and a tom boy mother left me a little behind in the beauty department. I'm not someone who wears makeup a lot but when I do I want to feel special, look good and make an impression. This book gave me that power, it's great!

I'm completely new to makeup, even at the age of 17, so my sister gave me this book. Let's just say that I no longer look like I haven't got a clue. The easy-to-follow instructions and clear illustrations will help ANYONE develop their skills and perfect looks that they have always wanted to wear. I'd even pay $50 for this book - it is worth every cent.

Rae Morris is a talented and well known make up artist who has proven her talents in this book. Each and every type of make up can be achieved by anyone with a thorough step by step guide. The photos shown in this book are exceptional. I would highly recommend this book to anyone learning make up or as a modern refresher!

This book is a good book to have as a reference but I did find that the application of the makeup a little messy around the eyes. The first section of the book about eyebrows shapes and brushes etc is helpful.

Fantastic guide to correctly using makeup, with a no nonsense approach and aimed at achievable results for those of us still shakey on the right way to do things - and then push the boat out once your comfy with the tips and skills garnered. I loved the way colour was used on older folk, and on familiar faces. I consider this a nice companion to Kevin Aucion's makeup bibles.

Beautifully illustrated book, full colour pictures not line drawings. Step by step instruction. Great tips for the more mature woman. Very helpful guide on make-up kit and brushes. Covers everything you would need to know about preparing your skin and applying make-up.

You often see books entitled the "Ultimate" this or the "complete" that, but this time, the title is bang-on accurate. Rae Morris gives brilliant, sensible and achievable advice - easy to follow, and superbly illustrated.

I hung off buying this book for quite a while, and now I wish I'd just bought this one, instead of two or three others that I got in the interum.

The photos are lovely, the models varied, and she also includes some excellent techniques and "looks" for the over-40s. Maybe not so many as for the young ones, but at least the older woman gets acknowledged and catered for.

If you're going to buy any make-up book, make it this one.
