I cant say enough about the need of the average person in this counrty to get a bit healthier...I do mean to say the average person. I am not trying to push anyones buttons here but far too many of us are far to heavy and out of shape! Can you run around the block? Yeah? Now can you run around that and the next one? Then if so you are probably more of a fit or athlectic person than the avarage guy.
I think I will have to dispute another reviewer, once again, who claims the book is vague. Your joking right? This is the most in depth study I have seen thus far of any microbiotic book i have looked into. It is in no way, shape or fashion vague!
I am going to adress just a fraction of one random page for my audience and I hope it may benefit someone someday.
Then I am going to ask that you look at it the next time you are in a bookstore and see if you find it vague. (Sorry fellow but your review was what I would call vague)
Here is a half page about diagnosis of certain cancers:pg 139
By Michio Kushi:
5.Green around either ankle on the outside of the leg shows developing problems in the bladder, uterus, ovaries, or prostate.
6. Green around the top of the foot in the outside central area, with its area extending to the fourth toe, shows liver or gallbladder problems.
7.Green inside the foot from the outer root of the big toe toward the area below the ankle bone shoes possible malignancies in the spleen or lymphatic system.
Developing tumors may also be indicated by abnormal colors in the whites of the eyes:
1. Dark spots in the upper portion of the white of the eye show calcified deposits in the sinus.
2.Dark spots in the lower white of the eye indicate kidney stones or ovarian cysts.
3.A blue, green, or brown shade or white patches on the whiteof the eye on either side of the iris indicate accumulation of mucus and fat in the liver, gallbladder, spleen or pancreas.
4.A yellow or white coating on the lower part of the eyeball in women shows accumulation of fat and mucus in the ovaries, uterus, vagina, or cervix.
6.A white or gray coating on the lower part of the eyeball in a woman indicates possible vaginal discharges, ovarian cysts, or fibroid tumors.
END of MICHIO KUSHI quote.
The second half of this devided page goes on to explain that cancers are primarily caused by dietary excess...the stages of illness are throughly explained in parts of this incredible and well researched book....nuf' said!
{ I reccomend that one try to stay healthy...because when you lose your health, THAT IS VERY HARD TO RECOVER!}

The path to healthing is complex when you enter the effect of food on us. This book gives another valuable contribution but I wish someone could make it easier as this contradicts on a minor scales some of the advice I have read else where especially about vegetable oil.
