Another contemporary clan worth following is Linda Howard's Mackenzie family. Start with Mackenzie's Mountain, which has recently been reprinted in Mackenzie's Legacy (Mira. 2005. ISBN 978-0-7783-2254-2. pap. $9.99), as it introduces progenitors Wolf and Mary. Wolf, trained in deadly covert ops during the Vietnam War, has started a small ranching operation in Wyoming, keeping away from a town that has harshly misjudged him to great cost. That is until the determined schoolteacher Mary Potter confronts Wolf and demands that his son Joe restart school. Copyright 2008 Reed Business Information.

What a great two in one novel by Linda Howard. These novels are probably the best Linda Howard has written and these novels are what got me reading Howard’s later novels. The chemistry between the characters are well written and very sweet and the way Howard has portrayed these characters are amazing. I love the development of the stories and everything flows at a nice pace. Definitely a book to read.
