Another excellent book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. The long awaited story of John Matthew. I was quickly drawn in to the story and characters. The pain of John missing Zhex is profound and soon effects his relationships with those around him. The second storyline of Dharius draws you in and fills in more about the relationship between him and Thor.
As the story unfolded I found myself experiencing a wide range of emotions, happiness, pain, joy, horror, disgust, anguish and frustration.
As always the sex is hot and the relationships are not easy. The story line of Blay and Quinn continues to be a large part of the book, still leaving you waiting for a happy conclusion. Another relationship that is covered in this book is that of Thor and John, thank goodness they are able to work on their relationship, they need each other.
I was hard pressed to put this book down until it was finished.
All in all I loved this story and would highly recommend it. Read the other books in the series as well, JR Ward is an exceptionally good writer.

There are so many stories running within this story. The main focus is ,of course, John Matthew and Xhex. Its so good to finally read their story. But also from an old diary we find out more about Darius's life and how that links to current happenings.
The on-going battle with the evil Lash and his slayers develops another layer.
Then there is life on The Far Side with Payne longing for a life and Layla awakening to what life could be.
We also follow Blay and Qhinn. Wonder whether Ward will ever get around to that little story!
The seemingly unrelated thread about the Paranormal Investigators doco production starts to make some connection late in the book and I can only guess that Ward is introducing the so-called "ghost" for future outings.
I just love these characters and feel as if The Brothers are my own!

Great to read about John Matthew and his relationship with Xhex (don't want to give too much away!). I have not been dissappointed with any of the Blackdagger Brotherhood Series books, and happily highly recommend them. Only dissappointment I have is when I get to the end of the book, and then having to wait for the next one! Enjoy :)

Finally what we have been waiting for the book of John Matthew. As always Ward does not fail to supply us with a well written, suspenseful story.
Xhex is missing taken by Lash son of the Omega. John will stop at nothing to find her dead or alive, but one thing is for sure John is after blood, Lash's blood, and he will stop at nothing to get it. Not only is John's female missing but he is still having flashes of memories that don't belong to him. Did John already know Xhex before he met her, was he destined to fall in love with her? Even is she loves him back can she, a half sympath assassin, ever stay with him?

I've waited so long to read John Matthew's story and JR Ward definitely did not disappoint. I thought this was a little slow to start, and had to make myself get past the first third of the book, but once you do, it all makes sense! The twist with the paranormal crew is interesting, and i love how all the intertwined story lines merged in the end. Can't wait to see what happens with Blay and Quinn!! JR Ward fans will love it!
