As always JR Ward has excelled herself. I totally enjoyed the pomp and circumstance surrounding this one. Nice to see Rehvenge, who has appeared prominantly in the more recents books get his own storyline, and to see the masterfull way she brings back other characters that seemed to have been left behind, as a teaser of what is to come. Can't wait for Johns story to come out on paperback...

I love the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series. J.R. Ward writes in a way that you feel part of the characters lives. I have shared this series with friends, and they all love the great mix of danger, sex and romance - what's not to like about these books? I have read all of the books in the Sookie Stackhouse series, (which is also great) and all the books in the Anita Blake series (not as good) and the Brotherhood series is by far my favorite.

Fantastic - The series is becoming more exciting as it speeds along The plot is developing into what is sure to be an explosive ending. I was so disappointed when I finished the book that I did not have the next one to read I am dying to see waht happens. - Oh well not long to wait until the next one is released.

This series just gets better. I never thought I would find a series about such sexy Vampires! And I adore Ward's humour which is subtle and intelligent. Great love story plus plenty of enthralling action.I highly recommend the entire series of The Black Dagger Brotherhood, but it should be followed in order of publication so that you move along with the evolving back stories.

This is my favourite of the series. I love Rhev, and this book was well worth waiting for. JR Ward continues her witty and very descriptive writing; I love the humour particulary from Lassiter. My only citicism as far as authenticism goes, is Mr D. His speech is not correct for a caucasion Texan male. ( I know, I have one for a husband ) Mr D sounds African American.
I agree this book is a little more violent than the others, but the leading characters are that by nature. It would be ridiculous for them to behave or react, any other way. As a counter balnce here is also much tenderness in this book. I love it.

Fans of JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series have been hanging out for this, book 7, Rehvenge's story. We've had teasers of Rehv's life in previous installments of the series (particularly book 6, Lover Enshrined) so here ends the mystery. If you haven't read the other books I wouldn't recommend starting with Lover Avenged because there is a lot of back story and a number of plotlines that have been running since book 1 that would be pretty confusing for the uninitiated.
As usual, Ward leaves you wanting more by setting up the next book in the series.
There's been a lot of buzz that Rhev's story is more violent than the rest, but I disagree. I found it to be no more violent or explicit than the other books in the series, and certainly nothing harsher than you'd get from a Kenyon or Hamilton novel.
