An attractively presented 144 page 2012 datebook or diary of the quality one would expect from Llewellyn. It is spiral bound, so opens easily and sits flat on whatever page you’re after. The pages are off white in a good quality paper and there are three pages at the back for notes. In the back of the Datebook, there is Moon Void-of-Course Data for 2012, and the dates of 2012 Eclipses and 2012 Full Moons.
In the front of the Datebook, there are guidelines on how to use it most effectively, articles on the Dark of the Moon, The Mystic Tray, Timecraft: Temporal Spellwork (which covers the nature of time, expanding time, contracting time, bending time, entering and exiting time and balancing time), Candle Magic, and lastly Scrapbooking Your Book of Shadows.
There is also information about Moon lore and Esbat rituals and the Moon phases most effective for spellcasting. There are daily planetary and colour correspondences so that you can empower your magical work, Wiccan holidays, Sabbat musings, and tasty seasonal recipes to help you celebrate the Wheel of the Year as well as information about seasonal spells and magical working and an at-a-glance guide to the best days to plant and harvest.
There is a double page for each week, and lovely black and write artwork on each double page. Dates likely to be of interest to Wiccans such as birth and death dates are included, so, for example, opening randomly at 26 March – April 1, we learn that 26 April (1910) is the birth date for Joseph Campbell and 28 April the death date of Scott Cunningham. And 31 March (1711) is the date of the last Witch Trial in Ireland. All you could possibly want in such a diary – and a lot more.
