Little town on the prairie is part of the series of the little house books,it pays to read the series in order.I think these little house books which are collectors editions are great with the updated colour pictures inside.Makes it seem like you are there back in the 1800's with the Ingalls family.A must read for young and old.

I like all of the Little House books, and this one too.
Interesting reading what Laura had to do before she went to school, and after school, and how she coped with having a blind sister and how hard she worked to help send Mary to college.
A very enjoyable read.

Laura Ingalls stories of life as a pioneer girl have never been out of print since they were first published. In this one, the family now comfortably settled in De Smet, Dakota, allows Laura to regularly attend school, and to take part in all of the fun that that brings, plus that of living in town. And when Almanzo comes calling, life couldn't be better.
A wothwihle series to read!

Little Town on the Prairie comes next after the Long Winter in the Little House series.
In this book they have just come through the hard winter and everything is wonderful. They have a new appreciation for the simple things in life and enjoy the new growing town.
Laura is given a lot of responsibility at such a young age. She works in a store every day for long hours, then at 15 she becomes a school teacher and has to live with a horrible family... It is a really great book which I recommend to anyone.
Once you have finished this series I recommend the "Rose Years" series by Roger Lea MacBride as a continuation of Laura's life as seen through the eyes of her daughter Rose.
Both are excellent series that everyone will enjoy.
