Mr Grinling and his great-nephew, George, find themselves stranded in the lighthouse on a stormy Christmas night. With no Mrs Grinling, no food or no presents, they wonder if this will be the worst Christmas ever|
I am a big fan of Ronda Armitage's books - they have some ingenuity in the plots and also show the characters using their wits to get themselves out of trouble. There is also considerable charm to the characters. I have read a lot of the lighthouse keeper books with my son and love the fact we can revisit the same characters in different situations. This book was particularly great to read at Christmas and I loved the way Mr Grinling handled things going awry on Christmas Eve by making it into a "Christmas Adventure". Great for toddlers to early primary school kids.
