In the book that he was born to write, provocateur and best-selling author Christopher Hitchens aims to inspire future generations of intellectuals, mavericks, rebels, angry young (wo)men and dissidents. Who better to speak to than the person who finds him or herself on a contrarian position than Hitchens, who has made a career of disagreeing in profound and entertaining ways. Hitchens bemoans the loss of the skills of dialectical thinking evident in contemporary society. He understands the importance of disagreement - to personal integrity, to informed discussion, to true progress, to democracy itself.

As per usual, Hitchens is both brilliant and eloquent in this guidebook for the budding pontificator cum gadfly. Witty and vituperative by turns, Hitchens expounds his views on religion, humour, rationality, politics and much more.
Provides intellectually engaging entertainment, much material for ponderation and erudition, and a definite boost to one's vocabulary. Highly recommended.
