A nice simple book for those with some reading skills. My son really likes this one, I think mainly because it is a Lego book. It's not much of a story but it is quite simple and I can help with the words that he doesn't know. As I said, it's not brilliant storytelling but Lego fans will like it.

Our 5 year old loves the Lego Police sets and everything related to them. This seemed the perfect choice for a beginning reader. The pictures provide close links to the text to allow for prediction of the story and the lego crazy child in your life will relate to every detail in the pictures. There's a lot of scope for discussion beforehand and afterwards. This will be a book that your child comes back to again and again.

Simple, colourful, grabs the chidrens' interest. All the LEGO easy reading books are popular. I use them with children who struggle with 'school readers'. When the books are around there will always be a group of children huddled together deep in conversation. Great way to get the reluctant reader enthused.
