"The First Death" is a prequel to Laurell K Hamilton's Anita Blake Vampire hunter book #1 "Guilty Pleasures". It is a graphic novel which is not my usual style but the illustrations are great and allow you to compare the picture you've created in your mind of how the characters look with how they have been presented on paper. This is not for everyone, but if you're a die hard fan it's worth a look.
