Lang Lang certainly faced a lot of challenges becoming who he has become. In this book he recounts his experience from early childhood, learning the piano under the strict (and how strict) guidance of his father. Perseverance however saw him succeed despite the ill will of a variety of people, including his teachers. Overall the book makes for an enticing read, but at time it feels as a retribution to those who caused his hardship. It just becomes a lit too personal.
