I was very disapointed with this book in many ways; writing was to small, explanation very poor in any other book to knitt a pair of botties it takes a minimum of two pages on how to, where this book did it only in two sentences if that, no illustrations where used, and all in black and white. Would'nt recomend it
This book is really amazing. Elizabeth Zimmermann was an absolute knitting genius and her patterns are all beautiful. A couple of things to keep in mind: her patterns can be vague - more of a description than a pattern at times so this book wouldn't be terribly useful for a beginner (which I am but have a copy anyway). But it's a worthy addition to any knitters library. Her method of writing is friendly and 'pithy' and you feel like you're talking to a friend when you're reading her writing.
Elizabeth Zimmerman is a great knitter who designed clothes without too much fuss and her patterns are the same. She has some classic knitwear in this book and her designs are wonderfully simple.
