i was blown away by this book and the sequel, the ask and the answer. it's a hugely entertaining, riveting, frightening experience, and the creativity and imagination is inspiring. don't be put off by the fact that it is 'teenage' fiction. i literally couldn't put them down, can't wait for the third book.
This book just blew me away and I can see why it has been nominated for so many prizes. The story is fast-paced and interesting with little twists that keep you hooked till the very last page. The over-all effect is supported by main characters that are endearing and complex. The dog Manchee is also an adorable addition. The writing is excellent and really makes you feel like you are right there with Todd and Viola as they run from the Mayor and his army of Prentisstown men.
All up I would have to say that this book is well worth the money and I canít wait to read the second one.
