About the AuthorStephen Chapman is an active teacher, author and consultant, with over 28 years experience in high schools as a classroom teacher and coordinator. He undertakes part-time teaching in the TAFE system, specialising in the subjects of Business Management and Human Resource Management, and has been a marker in the external examinations system for a number of years. Stephen has been writing educational textbooks for 17 years, and is the author or co-author of 16 textbooks in the areas of business management and economics. He has received awards for teaching excellence and his writings on pedagogy, and was awarded a Commonwealth Parliamentary Teaching Fellowship to pursue studies of civics and citizenship. Stephen has also been involved in resource development and consulting for a number of government organisations, including Austrade. As a consultant, heworks with schools in developing teaching programs and educational resources. Anthony Arthurson is teaching at Marcellin College in Bulleen and has taught in both government and independent schools. He co-authored Success in business management, published in 1993. Anthony was involved in consultations when the original Business Management course was introduced in Victoria in the early 1990s. He was also a chairperson for one of the panels assessing students' work when the course was introduced, and has continued to be a VBOS/VCAA assessor. Matt Richardson is the Learning Design Leader and a Senior Business Management teacher at Ballarat High School. He has taught VCE Business Management for 12 years. Matt was a member of the VCAA Business Management Review Panel and is an experienced assessor. He has presented at COMVIEW numerous times and has contributed articles to the VCTA journal COMPAK. Graeme Smithies has 38 years experience with the DEECD as a teacher and assistant principal. During that time he taught Business Management, Legal Studies, Economics, English, History and a variety of other humanities and commerce subjects. He has spent over 19 years in school administrative positions, including relieving principal and class positions in government secondary schools in the northern and western suburbs of Melbourne. He has a keen interest in educational issues and has created a range of educational resources. |
