About the Author

Brought up in England by a German mother and a Romanian father, Ted Simon found himself impelled by an insatiable desire to explore the world. It led him to abandon an early scientific career in favour of journalism, and he has worked for several newspapers and magazines on Fleet Street and elsewhere. Ted Simon is also the author of Riding Home and The Gypsy in Me.

A subjective approach to anaylsis of a time gone by and a time thats lived, a historical journey into mind, body , spirit, and soul as well as lands travelled and experiences gained. memories of times and places and people and friends that will no doubt last a lifetime. A incredible tale that leaves no stome unturned as you re-count it with the author.

What a great book! Not only is it an incredible journey described in a way which shows a sensitivity to details that should not be excluded from recounting travels, but it also becomes a new kind of story in its vintage. You can see how things have changed, and what things haven't, or even just romanticise over a time that has passed.
