As someone who has been a Jamie Oliver fan since Day 1. I own all of his cookbooks!!! This book is just wonderful. The photographs are fantastic. The stories that accompany the recipes are so friendly and inviting that you feel you're standing there talking with everyone. This is the kind of cookbook you pass down to your kids. It's a treasure in every respect.

Fantastic Love this book. Another brilliant cook book from Jamie Oliver. The recipes are so simple yet so tasty. One of my favourites for limited time cooking is the evolution carrot salad.

I think this is the best of Jamie's cook books so far. The recipes aren't too daunting, generally use simple ingredients and are very well explained. My husband has already prepared a few meals from this book and the results were sensational! It covers basics from salads and omelettes, through to some really tasty curries.
The book encourages readers to master a few of the recipes and then pass them on to friends and family, and aims to build confidence in the kitchen so we eat more home cooked food and less takeaway. Thoroughly recommended!

This book is fantastic, not only did it encourage my husband to cook, but my father too, we bought it 2 days ago and he has cooked dinner for the family two nights running! Hooray for the ministry of food! (Sizzling beef in black bean and also the spaghetti bolognese were a winner with the whole family from 1 year old to 65 ! Trying the burgers and mexican corn tomorrow, cant wait!
Very straight forwards, really like the way it guides you through preparation and then cooking the dishes great for beginners or experienced cooks!

I love this book - new ideas and twists on basics, as it's packed full of recipes I'll make during the week. Having said that, it's focus is on English food so if you find that a bit stodgy this might not be for you.

It's great - really down to earth, 'normal' recipes but at the same time they all give the average meal a touch of sophistication. Uses ingredients we'd use over and over - highly recommended.

I love this book! I can actually cook, but have trouble with what to cook, I waste alot of time staring into the freezer or panty trying to decide on a good meal to feed my family. This book has very basic meals but they are really yummy, with a spice added here and a fresh herb there the meals go from boring to great. I love the back to basics feel of the book as sometimes I feel I am the only person who doesn't know the correct timing to boil a hard or soft boiled egg. So now I go to this book and just about every page has something I would make, with ingredients that I have already. I feel this book will replace the edmonds as the book you give your kids when they leave home, great pictures and step by step instructions. You can't go wrong!
