Considering this book is basically meant to give the complete information of what happens in puberty, it's not a very large book. I got it for my 12 year old and to be honest it was a little too basic for her. It lacked some necessary detail, perhaps a better one for younger children.

Probably just a tad above my 9 year old who admittedly is quite naive. The book was very 'American' in places which is a shame and possibly tries to cover too many important topics in chapters that are too brief. However this will probably suit my daughters attention span and what is covered is mostly relevant. I cannot see my daughter taking on board the books under garment washing tips though!

liked this book, don't get me wrong. But I did find it a little thin, especially in light of all the topics it covers. That may be a good thing, as most young girls don't need or want to go into a lot of depth on these subjects. But compared to several other books of this nature, I found it a bit sparse.
That being said, the book does cover a variety of topics, from choosing a first bra, to developing breasts, internal reproductive organs, external reproductive organs (female only, and not in depth), menstrual periods and dealing with them, and in several places there are comments regarding appropriate behavior by adults towards children (which I was glad was included).
