My 60 year old partner was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer during a T.U.R.P procedure following a complete shutdown of his urinary system. He is soon to have a radical prostatectomy and is not talking with me about his thoughts and emotions. I desperately needed to have some understanding of the effects of prostate illness on mens' mental, emotional, and physical states. This book gave me all the help I needed, plus more, in an easy-read style. My partner has now read it and found it a positive relief from the doom and gloom statistics the medical profession push out. He has also agreed to do the exercises to increase his continence levels. One of the most satisfying aspects of reading this book was getting reassurance that our pre-surgery intimacy is damn good, and now it can only get better if he is willing to see himself post-operatively as the passionate and caring MAN that he is.
