I am that is regarded worldwide as one of the most important modern spiritual writings ever. Maharaj himself is a Jnani which is one who walks the path of wisdom or Jnana Yoga. The emphasis is on Advaita vedanta advaita means non-dual, vedanta means end of knowledge. Jnanis and advaitins regard the world as illusory because only god/awareness/consciousness is the true background which makes this world only an apperance that hides this underlying background. This is basically what Maharaj teaches and he is highly intelligent and wise. The book is made up of questions asked by people who came form all over the world to visit Maharaj, he answers these everyday questions with eternal wisdom. Maharaj did not do any meditation or pranayama, he only done what his guru asked of him, which was always have in mind "I am", he realized within three years. This is the path of the jnani which bypasses meditation and pranayama but is much harder than Raja Yoga. This book is definitly in the top 20 books on my list.
