A very entertaining book that is great to keep on your bedside table and dip into every now and again. Contains some great conversation starters, for instance: did you know that frogs go kwaak-kwaak in Afrikaans, owls go buung-buung in Korean, Rice Crispies go Knisper! Knasper! Knupser! in Danish, or that the Japanese word bakku-shan quite literally means ‘a woman who only appears pretty when seen from behind’? No you probably didn’t! Would make a lovely gift, particularly for any writers out there – or just for anyone who enjoys a bit of light relief.
