The next in the Alpha and Omega series follows on from soon after Cry Wolf left off. Anna is still recovering from her previous pack, and being thrown into the deep end with the European werewolves while trying to learn more about her mate, Charles, isn't helping matters.
If you have read Cry Wolf, and the short story about Anna and Charles in the anthology "On the Prowl", it is a nice continuation of the story. If not, I would recommend you read those first otherwise you may find things a bit confusing.
In brief, for those that want a synopsis, Anna and Charles go to Seattle to deal with the European werewolves. They meet "the Beast", the French Alpha who rules Europe and is against the werewolves being revealed to the world. Things, as always, never go smoothly and vampires and the Fae are involved.
For those that have read the Mercy Thompson books the timeline is still from before the wolves have revealed themselves to the world.
Patricia Briggs puts a lot of thought into her worlds, and this one is no different.
