'The door closed with a sickening thud of finality, shutting my friends out and leaving me alone with my enemy, a fallen angel, and the monstrous bird creature his ancient lust had created. Then I did something I'd only done twice before in my life. I fainted.' It's all happening, though Zoey Redbird wishes it wasn't. She has her friends back, which is great. But a dark angel has taken over the House of Night, supported by High Priestess Neferet. Not so great. This leaves Zoey hiding out with the (supposedly friendly) red fledglings in Tulsa's prohibition-era tunnels. The not greatness continues. Zoey has some boy-thoughts to distract her, with a chance to make-up with super-hot-ex Eric. But thoughts of the archer that died, semi-permanently, in her arms also keep distracting her. Then he shows up as Neferet's newest minion. Well, hell. Zoey and friends need a plan to put things right, soon, if she's to keep both head and heart intact. - Not suitable for younger readers -

Gr 10 Up-This story picks up where Untamed (St. Martin's, 2008) ends. Priestess Zoey and her friends must hide in the tunnels cozied and cleaned up by Aphrodite and the now-stable Red Fledglings while Darius ensures that Stevie Rae heals from the arrow wound in her chest. With the increasingly dark Neferet and immortal, fallen Kalona ruling the House of Night, Zoey deems that their vampyre finishing school is unsafe for their return, yet she cannot escape Kalona when he invades her dream, claiming her as his own. The close proximity of the tunnels presents the perfect opportunity for Zoey and Erik to reconcile. Yet once again, love gets complicated when Heath returns and Erik's jealousy drives Zoey aboveground where-in the light of day amid a raging ice storm-one of Kalona's Raven Mockers nearly kills her as she saves Heath from its attack. Forced to heal under the close proximity of adult vampyres, Zoey returns to the House of Night with a small group of her most useful and necessary friends. With their help, the prophetic poems of Red Fledgling, Kramisha, and a few unexpected characters, Zoey must find a way to expel Kalona and Neferet from the House of Night. The returning cast of characters, combined with the story's multilayered twists and turns, will not disappoint fans of the series.-Adrienne L. Poor poor Zoey it's hard with fallen angel & a Priestess gone bad trying to hunt you down. Zoey & her friends escaped to the tunnels at the end of Untamed to escape death. In the tunnels Zoey meets up old friend Stevie Rae & her group of Red Fledglings to seek shelter & work out how to stop evil Neferet & the fallen angel Kalona who badly wants Zoey. In the Red Fledglings Zoey finds new alais & clues to stop the evil. But once again Zoey has boy troubles getting in the way. Her vampire ex-boyfriend Erik wants to get back together, she imprints with human ex-boyfriend again & finds a connection to the dead now Undead new Red Fledgling Stark who is battling his own personal demons. Some parts where too dragged out making you wish it what just get to the climax, but layed out more mythology of the Vampire world & interconnected it with the Native-American legends. As previous books ends right on the climax to make you wanting the next book even more. A good book but not my favourite out of the 5.

The story of Zoey Redbird continues... This one is set over a few days and is a good filler while we wait impatiently for "Tempted". Zoey and her friends are being hunted down by an old evil, and have to try to survive it while having to save the day, again. She has to deal with getting her friends to safety, figuring out a way to save the town, and try and straighten out her love life!

What a fantastic read! I am relieved to know there is another in the series. The Raven Mockers scare the bejeezus out of me! Not nearly as much as Neferet though. Definate twists and turns, unanswered questions, left me heart thudding reading like a maniac. I love the Native American legends and rituals, and the way Zoey's love interests talked to her like they come from another century. I absolutely can't get enough of the House of Night Series, it's fantastic!

It is a great book, you can not keep your eyes out of the book. The only thing that is a little boring is the fact that the author keep explaining what happened in other books all the time, but I believe this help a reader that hasn't read the other books anyway....Zoey and her friends will take you to a world that you would like to be part of!

I've enjoyed this series very much and my students are also enjoying it - I can't keep the earlier books of the series on the shelves in the library! In Hunted Zoey and her friends have left the House of the Night and taken refuge in the tunnels under Tulsa with Stevie Rae and the other red-fledglings. When Heath appears to see if she is OK Zoey is attacked by a Raven Mocker. She needs to return to the House of the Night to heal properly, but at what risk? With the help of some of the professors to get safely away again, Zoey and her friends prepare to face Neferet and Kalona in a final showdown. Will they be able to survive and save Tulsa from the fallen angel and his Raven Mockers?

This book is diffinately my favourite out of the five and the story was told very well. Zoey once again can't stop all the boys falling for her or her for them, which doesn't help her out among the students of the house of night where she is still trying to fit in. She still has her special group of friends the "nerd herd" as Aprodite calls them. She also has a great friend in the one time enemy Aprodite who is still no longer a fledging but a special human who still has her gift from the goddess Nyx. A lot of action in this book and I was glad I didn't know what was going to happen in the end. Some books are so predicable, but not this one. A very enjoyable read and I would recommend this series of books to anyone who has enjoyed Twilight, as it is a teenage vampire drama. I can't wait for the next book to be released and I have it on order.
