I am no longer surrounded by clutter and gradually getting my house organised. Anthea provide simple instructions on how to make your house clutter free and organised. A value book full of lessons from decluttering, storage solutions, spring cleaning, cleaning room by room, laundry, children and pets, the home office, care and repair, removing stains, kitchen sense, shopping, entertaining, and home safety. This would be an ideal gift for anyone leaving home.

I love Antea Turners TV series and this book was just as fantastic. It is very simply put and easy tips for around the house. It doesn't encourage buying expensive products and give recipes for home made cleaners. I am really enjoying putting Anthea's tips to good use. I would defintaly recommend this book.

I love Anthea Turner from her TV series of 'How To Be The Perfect Housewife' and found the book to be a great accompaniment to the show. While I think some things are a little over-the-top, they are pure Anthea and the book still manages to teach you the basics you need to manage a house. This book is not about being the perfect wife, but running the perfect house. I am working my way through her principles and I can already see a change in not only my house, but my attitude towards making it the haven it SHOULD be.

I was the imperect housewife, un-ironically, so it was obvious this book would draw me in. I saw Anthea Turner on television and thought "wow, she must be a good housewife" so I was not surprised when I found she had written this book. Unfortunately, It was a dissapointment. I feel like she is clutching at straws bywriting this book, as If she was trying to draw on a last-gasp talent she might have had. It's is a bit obvious at time - "Put flowers on your dinner table that smell nice and will make your guests feel comfortable" is one example. I needed help with my marriage, not my carpet, and this didn't help much. Sorry, 2 stars.
