"... surely there are better things to do..."
Is meditation so frowned apon, or prayer, or losing oneself in the wilderness?
Dan Price opens up a simple, cheap and enlightening way of getting in touch with ourselves. Artists know this; it is in the act of observation that we appreciate life. The end result (in this case an illustrated journal) is just a wonderful record of the journey of 'seeing'!
Take this pocket sized catalyst as inspiration for yourself. Grab an expensive moleskine, bunch of scrap paper, a pen or pencil or luxury markers and spend an hour or two observing your life.
Maybe you'll give up some TV, get outside a bit more, or think about what your actions are doing (in however immeasurable ways) to our earth.
Make a journal of your life... or not. But Dan just wants you to stop and take notice of what is going on around you!
Awesome Book. Nuff Said
This is a book on how to keep a journal or how to record yourself for posterity. Sure it may be a good idea for some people just like keeping a diary but it seems like it is more of a private thing and keeping a journal has become comodified and a rather trendy thing to do, but thats just me.
There is some quirky charm in this aggravating book but I daresay it will have its admirers. There are some cute drawings but there is something disturbing about needing to record every aspect of ones life, surely there are better things to do. But whatever there are plenty of ideas here for people who are so inclined.
