Reviews

3 of 5 Stars! – Customer review on 29/09/2009

Knox's three volumes of memoirs, Paremata, Pomare and Tawa, are brought together in this novel.
It tells the moments of a girl's childhood and adolescence, based partly on her own childhood growing up near Wellington. It focuses on two sisters, Jo and Lex, and their family, friends and neighbours.
At first it was hard to get into as it is very different to Knox's beloved The Vintners Luck, but persevere, it is a brilliant read full of lots of emotion.
