First up, the book is spiral bound which makes it great for keeping the page open on the right recipe!. The first section clearly outlines various useful items to have in your kitchen for pureeing, baking, etc. Then there is a list of must haves for your pantry. How to puree is explained as is the basics of cooking rice, pasta, chicken and beef. A nutritionist then explains who much we should eat and what each veggie and fruit is good for in keeping us healthy.
Now to the good part, the recipes....they are set out under breakfast, mealtime and dessert. Scattered throughout are comments for the Seinfield children and others. Each recipe has the 'hidden' veggie, etc. listed in different colour which I think is a great idea. The recipes are straightforward and the tummy starts growling just reading them!!
This is a very smart cookbook. To be able to make meals for your kids, and have all the vegetables hiden inside is simply a great idea. I made the spinach and carrot Brownies in it, My children almost ate all of them in one whole day.
I have a lovely Two year who at this stage in his life does not want to eat any thing that is good for him and the reciepes in this book has now made our meal time a pleasure.
Definenty worth buying.
This is hands down the BEST cook book i have used, and what's better is no-one knows there are vegetables in the meals! I made the lasagna for my neighbours and they we very surprised and impressed to find out what was in it. Its brilliant and so easy. i LOVE it and my family does too :)
Great book. Lots of ideas to sneak good things into your kids food. Some of them don't contain a huge amount of vegies, but if you have a fussy eater, then something is better than nothing! My favourite are the choc chip cookies with CHICKPEAS - my kids love them and a batch contains a whole tin of chickpeas!
what a fantastic book for mums or dads who want their kids to eat fruit and veg without knowing it. only 2 problems 1.was trying to convert into our metric system 2. some ingredients worded differently but we have all of it here in australia or buy over ebay
Love this book. A great buy, and everything really is as easy to do as the book says. Spent a hour in my first week preparing purees for the whole week. Kids don't have a clue what they are eating.
Lovely lay out, easy to read, informative, SPIRAL BOUND (bonus), easy to follow recipes, although I haven't gone the whole hog, I still use regular marg or butter and whole eggs, results are still great.
Only critisim is that temps are in in F, would of like to see celcius too.
A must for all parents struggling to get veggies into their kids & themselves. I have tried 5 recipes so far & have been busy using the ideas to make up my own creations. ! Even my husband has made up a loaf - must be easy to follow.
Fabulous cookbook. Have made quite a few recipes with very pleasing results. Has been great to use on vegie phobic husband too. Who would of thought that meatballs with brocolli puree would be describe as fantastic. Or chicken breast coated with spinach puree would be devoured in no time. My girls favourite would be the pink pancakes. Of course! but sshhh! Don't tell them what makes them pink.
A conversion chart for Australian sales with weight and temperature would be a good idea, other wise google "The World Metric Chart".

The book has some fabulous recipes where vegetables are well and truly hidden. We have made some of the recipes already and my children (one of which is a vegetable fuss pot) have loved them all so far. What I did find a little frustrating is the american terms for certain ingredients and the lack of translation into alternative choices for some of the recipes. I had to go online to find out what the ingredient actually was and whether it was sold here under a differant name. However once the meals were cooked they were fabulous. A very clever idea!!!!!
