Ayurveda is the world's oldest system of natural medicine, originating in India thousands of years ago. Yoga, now practiced by tens of millions of Americans, is derived from it. This unique book reveals the ancient yet ultramodern Ayurvedic perspective on depression. Filled with time-tested techniques to untangle the root of depression, it offers a holistic approach that includes wisdom on yoga, breathing techniques, meditation, nutrition, exercise, lifestyle, and spirituality. Nancy Liebler, PhD (Bloomfield Hills, MI), is a clinical psychologist, professor, and lecturer. Liebler is on the board of the David Lynch Foundation and has spearheaded conferences for Stress-Free Schools. Sandra Moss, MSPH (Ann Arbor, MI), is an Ayurvedic practitioner in private practice. An active researcher and writer, Moss lectures and consults throughout the country.

What an amazing book. I did a double take when I saw the cover as this is exactly how I healed my own depression and addiction, via yoga, meditation and ayurveda, and this was before I read the book! I purchased and love this reference book and am thrilled someone has put this method in writing. I HIGHLY recommend this book for anyone working with depression and or addiction, or needs help themselves. I can categorically tell you that it works!
BRAVO to Dr. Nancy Liebler and Sandra Moss for the most practical, yet in-depth, how-to-book I have read on the application of natural healing modalities for depression. I especially appreciate the direct language used in explaining the application of Ayurveda for mental health. The authors did not insulate themselves through the language of Ayurveda, as so often I have seen in other books of that discipline, but wrote in undertandable language to make the book most readable for the general audience. As a Psychologist for almost 30 years, I can assure you this book is on the top of my list for recommended reading to my patients. It is one we all want to have on our coffee table as a constant reference.
