Clive Birnie has been cutting things up to make poems from them since 1994. Silkworms Ink released Terminal Insemination Art a text sequence of cut-up thought fragments and overheard conversations in 2012. Cutting Up the Economist, a newspaper montage sequence exploring the age of austerity, was published via Burning Eye in 2014. Time Travel Hotel, a sci-fi comedy (novel) via Burning Eye in 2015. Clive has had poetry and short fiction published by a number of literary magazines on and off line, was shortlisted in the Bridport Prize Poetry Competition in 2013, 14 & 15 and won the Wyvern prize at the 2013 Wells Festival of Literature. Clive has been commissioned to create an installation & residency based on the project for the StAnza Poetry Festival 2016 and is regularly invited to talk at festivals, universities and colleges about the creative processes he employs.
