Although I haven't full read through this the third book in the set I have to say how impressed I am as to the quality of all of the material by Dan Harrington I've been.
If you are looking for something to test your skills and make you think the questions asked in this book will make you think.. there is not always one correct answer and he walks you through why each although it may be the best answer in certain situations may not be in others.
Dan makes detailed analysis of each hand after asking you what you would do and provides real life examples from real situations as he walks you through what he believes to be the best answer.
I was a little unsure about his teaching method when I looked at his books as I did notice they kept saying "what would you do" but having gone a little further he has done a simply supurb job.. by asking what you would do he is putting you in that particular situation and making you make a decision whether it is correct or not then he walks you through and explains why your answer is or isn't correct.
Currently I am still going through the workbook for the first time (I still haven't finished reading his other books but I thought it a good idea to get some idea of where my game is at as a base point so once I have completed the other books I can resit the test and see how I do). He puts you in situations you might normally never get into and often in situations you've gotten into but been unsure of how best to handle.
If you are wondering whether to buy all 3 of Dan's books or just the first two.. I bought them together and if this one was missing would definately have regretted it.. they are complementary.. you need this one as well as it will re-enforce learned material and make a difference.. in saying that.. please don't buy these books I don't want you to read them and there is no way I would give mine up I will be reading an re-reading them over and over.

This book is the third and final installment in the authors’ excellent three volume ‘Harrington on Hold ‘em’ Tournaments series. Entitled ‘The Workbook’, Vol. 3 provides a full set of work-through problems with quizzes based on situations taken from real-life tournaments. Each problem tackles a number of the concepts and tactics discussed in Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. The true value of Vol. 3 is its role for learning from the problems, as it helps you to evaluate your game and tournament play. Some people have complained that Vol. 3 adds very little to the series and was merely a ‘money making’ exercise for the publishers; I dispute this. All poker books are essentially written the same – here is a concept, here are your cards, and here is the mock example. This book is all about real-life situational analysis based around the concepts and is a guide on how to act. Any player will learn a lot more from Vol. 3 then the ever expanding litany of sub-standard poker books in today’s market. The authors are professional, world-class players and have written an outstanding book. It will not revolutionise your poker library, but provides a ‘must read’ to develop your game.
