I think this is a really good book - simple but so imaginative - I enjoy reading it to my son.
However, for him it is not yet a book that captures his attention - I suppose he is so used to colourful pictures. I hope that he will with time come to appreciate & love the simple picture / great story.

Crockett's classic tale of a little boy out for an adventure certainly captures the imagination of its audience. The concept of young Harold physically creating his own caper equiped with little more than his trusty purle crayon inspires the youing reader.
My little boy thoroughly enjoys his time with Harold and asks for the story to be told over and over again. Recommended!
