Hairy Maclary goes off for a walk in town, followed by a few friends. All is uneventful until they meet Scarface Claw, the toughest tom in town, and run for home. The story is told by a brilliant, cumulative rhyming text and terrific pictures.
About the Author
Lynley Dodd is an award-winning author/illustrator who lives in New Zealand. She is enormously popular for her rhyming stories of the unforgettable HAIRY MACLARY and his friends. She worked as a teacher before beginning to write her own books in 1974.

They take the town until a giant tomcat sends them all homeward. Who doesn't love Hairy McLary? This is a new childrens book which has already become both a favourite and a classic, and Lynley Dodd keeps writing these wonderful rhyming stories as well. Hairy McLary from Donaldsons Dairy is one to own and place on the keeper shelves for your children and grandchildren. Wonderfully illustrated too.
you have to read this! Lynley Dodds books are fantastic, these were my favourite child hood story books, Hairy McClary from donaldson dairy, schnitzel von crumb with the very low tum, and especially scar face claw! he was definately the best though! anyway back on topic, these books are absolutely great any child should read them!
