About the Author
Hagar really is a family business both on and off the paper. Dik retired from the strip in 1998 and his son Chris took over the strip. Hagar was a phenomenal success from the very start. It debuted on Feb. 4, 1973, in an impressive 136 newspapers.

Excellent, comprehensive edition of some of the funniest, most consistent comics around. Don't let the often lackluster Chris Browne strips currently running in newspapers dissuade you -- these are hilarious, truly classic strips.
