About the Author

Tony McCarthy is a Corkman and a writer and researcher on Irish genealogy. He was a founder of the magazine "Irish Roots" although no longer involved in its management. In addition to 'Tracing your Cork Ancestors', he has also published "The Irish roots guide" Lilliput Press (Dublin) 1991. Tim Cadogan, who passed away in 2014, was the librarian of the Cork County library and wrote extensively on his native Cork. He was also a valued and very active member of the Cork Genealogical Society. In addition to 'Tracing your Cork Ancestors' he has also written; 'A Biographical Dictionary of Cork' (with Gerry Falvey) (Pub. Four Courts Press, Dublin: 2006); 'Cork in Old Photographs' (Gill & McMillan, Dublin 2003); 'Cobh in Old Picture Postcards' (Europese Bibliotheek B.V. Netherlands; 1995)
